Mountain Bible Family,
We are at the end of our sermon series on the Mission + Goals of MBC. I pray that it has helped you to center your life on enjoying and sharing the gospel.
What is the gospel? It is not something that we do to better ourselves; it is something that Jesus has done for us through His life, death, and resurrection. We place our faith in His faithfulness, not our own. He is the gospel, the good news that we savor and share with others.
“Listen, everyone, gather round, I have good news, and it isn’t about Caesar. It is that all those who are dirty, messy, imperfect, needy, burdened, and weary have someone who takes you as you are and dresses you in His robes of righteousness and shalom. Ahh…you have been given a fresh start in King Jesus. You have a new name in Him, a new belonging that you have always longed for. Now, you are like a trumpet, trumpeting His goodness to all you meet. Listen up: everyone who believes in Jesus receives forgiveness of sins! Hallelujah, He is our gospel of peace!”
Think about any goals that you might remember from our sermon series or goals that you might have for sharing the good news of Jesus with others.
In the Gospel (Jesus),
p.s. I drew the trumpeter several years ago for some poems that I wrote about the gospel. Blessings!
