Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: “God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20, MSG)
Grace and peace to you all in King Jesus!
This Sunday, we will continue our series on the Mission + Goals of MBC. We will hone in on the second part of the Great Commission from vv. 19-20 and ponder what it looks like to share the joy of Jesus with the world.
King Jesus came and opened the door to a new world where a close, loving relationship with the Creator was made possible.
“Come on in, sit down at the table, and feast. Through faith in Me, you have nothing to fear, nothing to prove, and nothing to hide. Through Me, you are welcomed into the strongest bond of love. You are welcomed into the loving embrace of the Trinity. Now, you can finally rest.”
Jesus welcomes sinners (all who know their need of Him) to the table. How are we called to welcome sinners and point them to the only One who saves-the King of Kings? How is God calling us to advance His Kingdom here on the Summit? Lord, lead us!
As you read the Great Commission this week, what stands out to you?
Blessings in Christ,
